As most of us know, summer in the San Juans means afternoon showers and thunderstorms. I was enthralled by the movement of the clouds ascending the valley to the lower basin -- first obscuring, then revealing the surrounding peaks. Not the type of shots I usually go for, so I am curious if they work or if there is not enough in the scene to catch the eye.

I also like #1 as the smooth fog rolls back to reveal rough textures. And I like the waterfall.
Where's that one located?

Thanks, Soubhik -- John, the waterfall is the "main" fall that flows into the lower basin. It has some unique features including a section that cuts diagonally through the rock -- as seen in many other photos. I happened to be camped within about 50 yards of the falls, which was pretty awesome.

I like the mist shots, but the waterfall one is my fave! Great shot; I haven't yet been able to successfully shoot those falls like this!

Thanks, Jack -- I think the overcast weather really helped with the falls shot. I think those falls have a ton of potential shots in them, I could have spent hours just trying out the various options.
