Right now, I have narrowed down my fall trip to Vermont or Northern Utah. I won't make my decision until a few days before I go..... In the meantime, anyone have any areas in Northern Utah that they suggest. I already have several areas but I am open to suggestions. Thanks!!! Joe.

Here's a few, though you might already know them.
Big Cottonwod Canyon and up over Guardsman Pass.
Timponogos Loop and the Cascade Springs road which branches off of the loop.
Mt Nebo Loop road. This one doesn't get the pub, but there is some nice views.

Thanks, Jeff. I had all but 1 of those. I really appreciate your help! Joe.

Joseph, if you're serious about Vermont, you should know that waiting until the last minute may make finding overnight accommodations all but impossible. Many of the decent motels, hotels, and b&b's are booked months in advance.

I usually sleep in my truck anyway so I am covered in that regard...Thanks.
Depending on your timing and where colors are peaking, going north of Salt Lake to the Ogden and Logan areas can present some good opportunities. Routes such as Logan Canyon and Sardine canyon and their surroundings can be very vibrant. Come to Utah and be in a position to follow the color.

If you are wanting to do any barn or old building shooting as you like to do, while you are here, then up north around Brigham City, Logan, and over to Bear Lake area could be good for you.

Here is one of the old cabins in the Bear Lake area - though no fall colors would really show around it, unless the grasses go gold...This photo is from years ago, but I know that the cabin is still standing.

This barn is in the Logan area (Cache Valley) but it is hard to get a clean shot of it...

This shot is of an old building in Ovid, Idaho. Ovid is on the far north end of Bear Lake.

These are not the greatest photos, just some to show you what types of things you would see in the Logan (Cache) and Bear Lake valleys.
