I just read on facebook by two sources that nature photographer Nancy Rotenburg has passed away. She was a great photographer that will be greatly missed. I learned about Nancy when I started out in photography when I bought one of her books. I was honored when she made a nice comment about my images not long ago on a website, so I am happy to have had the brief encounter with her.

I didn't know her personally but I do know that she was a tremendous photographer and her contributions to nature photography will be missed.

Very sad - she was a wonderful photographer, and had several Galleries in Oregon that I was fortunate to visit.
She'll be missed.

I wasn't familiar with her, but after looking through her website she appeared to be a delightful person with a beautiful smile, and quite an accomplished photographer and writer. I'm sure she will be greatly missed.

I've heard of her and know about her by her wonderful reputation. A great loss indeed. Thank you for posting this, Mike.

The loss of Nancy is sad news for the world and not just we nature photographers. She was a warm, free, happy, generous, loving spirit who walked in sunshine wherever she went. She was as full of grace as she was of freckles and her warmth will be sorely missed. She was one with the living planet and all upon it.

I knew Nancy from many NANPA events ( I am on the awards committee and Nancy was under strong consideration for a high award coming soon). I also know Nancy from the workshop business. Though a competitor, she was one of the good people. ...sad news indeed....JG
