Elk
Found this nice looking bull on Trail Ridge this morning. He already has his harem together.
Thanks for looking.

And this one...

I'm jealous- bugling bulls in the alpine. I like the second with the lighting and downhill angles.

Yeah, that 2nd one is very nice!

Already scrubbed the velvet off. Wonder if that portends an early winter...

Great to see these big guys. Thanks for sharing.

Sweet-a$$ shots, Dan.

Nice work Dan! With the warm weather, it would figure they are staying up on Trail Ridge and not coming down yet. Guess I should hurry before the storms come and get some of these considering all the lovely fencing they added in the valleys below (can't wait to see how challenging that will make shooting the rut this year).
BTW, I like both (of course) but #1 is my favorite. Not often you get a bugling Elk with velvet already gone up above timberline.

Nice set of images. Really like #2 especially the background. I was surprised yesterday when a 6x6 bull was drinking out of my bird bath. He was totally cleaned and scraping on one of the aspens. The bulls I've seen this year have been very healthy looking.
Once the temperatures drop I think we'll be in for a great season of wildlife photography.

Can't decide - I like both of them :toast:

Love that second one especially!

yep, both are excellent but #2 is the winner! I really think youve become a master at good focus/dof.

Both great, like the darker background of 2 the best.

Just more "wow!"s from me! :toast:

Great shots Dan. Yup, Kurt the fence will make it fun this year.

I like them both equally. A regal animal captured most masterfully!

I liked both equally as well for different reasons. Just some really great shots of animals that are not easy to come by :)
