Mount Evans
Had a good last day on Mount Evans this morning. Guess now I have to either ride my bike or hike to the top from Summit Lake! Thanks for looking.

I've never seen a pika look pissed off but this one sure as heck does. Great photos!

Thanks! One more ptarmigan. There must have been at least 20 of these birds. Usually the most I see is about 5 or 6.

Beautiful detail captured on the ptarmigan and a very cool and unusual pose on the pika. Neat catch on the muley, never saw one up there.

Good haul! It really annoys me that they close the road so early.

Nice set.

Great set. I love the feather detail and colors in the first ptarmigan.

Is there a wildlife habitat reason for the early closure?

#1 is real nice the others are not too shabby either. :toast:

Dan, both the Ptarmigan and Pika are excellent! The feather detail on #1 is great!!
Congrats on a great day of shooting!

You made the Ptarmigans into works of art. Such great feather color shifting, and amazing birds to live at that altitude. Great shot of the Pika and the muley! :toast:

The combination of summer and winter plummage is striking on the ptarmigans. My preference is to the last image with the red tundra (aside from the two offside feathers sticking out). Looks like a nice morning stretch and yawn by the pika.

Dan, That first shoot is very creative and outstanding. It sets apart any Ptarmigan I've seen.

Thanks a lot! I know Todd, I wish they would not close so early as well. Still a lot of great shooting to be done up there!

Nice series of images, I have to laugh a little at the pika -- it looks as though he's ready to attack. The Ptarmigan shots are outstanding.
