Grey Wagtail
Taken today in mixed weather. Perch is not the best in the world (it is the frame of a sluice winch at the end of a lake) but it is my first capture of a Grey Wagtail so, I took what was there!!!

Grateful for any comments/crits.

Stats - D2X 200-400 VR, 1/350 @ f5.6 ISO 400.

Cheers,
Roy

Nice first image of a Grey wagtail. I do think the wagtail should have been a bit bigger in the frame and a you stated the perch is not fantastic

Hi Roy

I don't mind the crop, the only thing I would like to have seen would have been the bird a little higher and to the right to include more of that fantastic spider's web!

I like the composition of this. Maybe a little s/h work would help with the poor lighting you experienced. :toast:

The bird stands out superbly from the background and I quite like the perch which is a bit different and interesting.
Only nit is the head looks like it could be a little soft, but it's hard to tell at this small size.
An attractive image nevertheless.
