A woman I work with who's family lives in Vermont sent me this link of some of the flooding and devastation in the state caused by Hurricane Irene. Unbelieveable that a hurricane went this far inland. I hope all areas that were hit in VT, NY, NJ, and NH are able to recover quickly before the cold weather moves in.

Vermont Damage from Irene

Incredible images - many of these people never saw it coming or at least never expected it. We were lucky on Long Island that we got very little rain or else it would have been much much worse.

We were lucky in southern NH too Luke. Good thing Katia will miss us, but I am going to Scotland next week and Katia's path may hit there a day or two before my trip especially the western isles. Hope they heed the warnings since hurricanes / topical storms seldom hit there as well.
