Morris McClung received a highly coveted (?) 'Shout Out' from renowned landscape photographer Ian Plant in his most recent 'blog post.
But....'monkey flung doo-doo' ?!?
Congratulations, Morris. Couldn't have happened to a finer fellow!

Awesome recognition Morris!! If that is Monkey flung doo-doo, then mine must be the too-doo that was flung
Glad to see you got some well deserved recognition.

Here, here!! Morris, your work is very inspiring. Your mastery over a wide range of subjects from the grand landscapes to the intimate details and even the occasional wildlife shot is fantastic. You have a very creative eye for composition and lighting and I look forward to new posts from you. Thanks for sharing your work!!

Thanks, John.( I think.)
The doo-doo he's refering to is my comment to him that I thought my 6 year old website that is nothing but bad scans of slides and worked up with PS elements 2.0, (yeah that's right, 2.0! ) was Crap! And asked him not to refer people to it. But, I guess he's right. We should never shy away from our work. At least he also put in a link to my recent work on my gallery on NPN. I do feel honored he considered me for the Shout Out. Ian has an enormous following on his site and blog, so I will get a ton of exposure. I just hope people like my work and don't remember me as "monkey flung doo-doo."

John, as you are a former Shout Out recipient, I expect more from you. I'm not sure which I find to be worse: (1) You have subtly mocked the Shout Out by calling it "highly coveted (?)" - your addition of the question mark at the end seems pregnant with malicious sarcasm. (2) You have referred to me as a "renowned landscape photographer," which is evidence of your extremely poor judgment and bad taste. Either way I might have to punish you by giving you a second Shout Out!
Morris, sorry I included a link to your site, but I thought the images on it were too good to pass up. We're all the worst critics of our own work. Well, actually, that's not true, I've know a few people out there who are ruthlessly critical of my work. But the reaction to your Shout Out was uniformly positive, so you're in good shape - I don't think that anyone will think of you as the "monkey flung doo-doo" guy!
In case anyone is wondering, the whole monkey stuff was just my usual way of writing about things on my blog: I like to keep things friendly, informal, educational, and above all, fun. It may not seem obvious underneath all the jokes but I have enormous respect for Morris and John and the others I have featured on my blog, and the long and ever expanding list of people I want to feature in the future. Just my way of paying it forward, so to speak.
So Morris, here's to you!

Ian,
I've been around NPN long enough to know you and your humor. And, I have followed your blog long enough to understand your own personal stamp of fun. I knew exactly what I might be in for.
No worries about the site. There are a few passable images.
And you know I consider it an honor to be shouted-out. I didn't know John had preceded me. That does diminish it somewhat.
