For Sandy or Varina, the challenge says, "Photos of your local park taken in the last 30 days."

Can these also be photos taken AT your local park even if it's a macro or something?

And can local be someplace we go regularly even if it's two hours away, or no?

Thanks. :)

Yes, I meant (since I suggested this topic) photos OF or TAKEN AT our local park - ponds, trees, bugs, birds, etc.
And let's say "local means" in our own towns or within - what? - 25 miles. My intention was to encourage us all to look for images nearby, in a common place that we may have overlooked or not appreciated before.

I Hope Varina, as the WC Moderator, agrees.

Oh definitely! I love macro and detail photography - and I completely agree with Sandy's comments. I tend to be pretty broad in my interpretation of weekly challenge themes because the idea is to encourage creativity.

As far as how close "local" is - I think that's pretty tough to define. Some people may have a park right down the street - but for others, the nearest park may be miles from home. I think we can each use our own judgement in determining the meaning of "local". I think we understand Sandy's intentions with this challenge idea. In her words, "My intention was to encourage us all to look for images nearby, in a common place that we may have overlooked or not appreciated before." If your location works within that frame of mind - I say go ahead and post!

I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone has to offer!
