Emerald Lake
Very windy morning up in the Park today. Decided that I needed to check out Emerald Lake and basically recon the trip so I have a good idea what a future winter trip will look like. I had never been up to Emerald before. I was surprised at how dramatic the scenery was...

Here's two shots from my trip.

#1 is a 4 image shot, hand blended and then stitched. For the bottom half, I used a 4 stop ND filter to tame the mid-morning light and reflection.

Comments, and critique welcome.

Not bad for a recon, altho i was hoping for a shot from a cliff above a Spectacle...
I really like #2--great fg light! The one tree gets a bit in the way up top, but certainly not a deal breaker here, real pretty shot.

Emerald Lake? Little, docile Emerald Lake in RMNP??? How do you make it look so, um, Engelbert-esque and exciting? Really nice stuff, Kane.

I especially like number 2.

Really like #1 with the rocks in the foreground.

I like both of these about equally Kane. Really like the underwater rocks in the first one and really like the tall grass and mountain back-drop in the second one.

I like both these compositions - the underwater scene rocks.

I like the effect of the ND on the blurring of the underwater rocks and ripples.

Both are your usual fine comps and treatment of light and color. #1 has a serious halo around the ridge line on my monitor, and if you find out how to get rid of it, e-mail me, 'cause I struggle with this in my blends, too.
You always give me hiker envy with the great places you are able to get to for your shots. Keep them coming!
