With the monsoon winding down, i figured i needed to grab any opportunity out there, so when i noticed a storm headed toward Pueblo last night as i was rushing out to get to the gym before it closed, I had to quick grab my camera and managed to fire off about 20 exposures before the rain started coming down in sheets! Here's the pic of the bunch, a 15s exp at f/9, looking south at Pueblo--the city light are illuminating the rain shaft a bit

Holy smokes! Glad you are ok! One of the best lightning shots I have seen.

Holy shiat! Man, we didn't get anything like that up here. This is a beauty, Stan!

You had a pretty good display of lightning. How frequent were the disharges?

Wow! Great catch for a only a 15 sec exposure. That storm must have been pretty intense.

First words out of my mouth were Holy Schnikee...or really another word I won't use here. Stan you have posted some great lightening shots, but this one takes the cake...the lightening is just phenomenal!

Great shot Stan!

Oh, Mommy! That was from one 15 sec. exposure? I was using 10 and 15 sec exposures on mine and they were way more exposed than yours.
And did you use a telephoto on this or crop it any, Stan? At least I hope this wasn't a wide angle.
Crazy, crazy bolts.

It was 24 mm, hence the distortion on bottom. And it was definitely getting a little bit too close for comfort--i was actually glad when it started pouring since that gave me an excuse to run inside! I just cropped a liitle off the right side.
Doug--they weren't too frequent, i only got two big strikes in about ~5 minutes or so (and this was the better of the two--looks like three separate strikes in quick succession here), but i guess the storm was storing up its energy cause when the bolts came, they were pretty dramatic!
