Rain on the Lost Mesa
Went to New Mexico for Labor Day weekend. September is officially the end of summer and the start of camping season. It was 105 when I left Fort Worth and it was in the mid 50's at night on the open range.

Here is a sunset and distant rain across the open range of the wild and lonely Otero Mesa.

You can see more info about the mesa on my blog linked below.

Darren, I am really liking the Big Sky effect here, what lens did you use?

Thanks Tom.

Siggy 10-20 f/4-5.6 on my 50D.

Fun lens.

Darren,
What I like:
Great depth augmented by the distant hint of mountains;
Wonderful color and contrast;
Ominous dark on the underside of the clouds;
The "V" made my the clouds pulls the eye to the distance.
Great photo.
Thanks for posting it.

Very nice Darren, one really gets a sense of vast space in this comp.

Great sky here Darren. I think I might crop off a little more of the forground to emphasize it even more. Great use of the wide angle.

I know it's been dry in Texas, but since your last two posts have been about rain, it wouldn't surprise me if you're a little obsessed.
