Shore bird ID please

I am quite new to the shorebird area. This highly cropped little thing is from Prince Edward Island and I am guessing it is a plover of some type. Anyone got any ideas? Bird books are at home and the internet actually isn't helping on this one. Thanks in advance.

Lindy, this is a Semipalmated Plover.

Ditto what Mia says. I'll also add that it's not in breeding plumage.

Steve : Not endangered in Canada. Are you thinking of the Piping Plover?
