The other morning I was driving to work, I couldn't see more than 10 feet in front of me at times. As I started out of the fog an foreign landscape began to emerge. The hints of shape and silhouettes really struck a chord. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera... DOH!

Through the month of October I would like to see your visions of fog.

Here is one that I shot in 2010 in Alaska. It is the bunk house of the abandoned Independence Mine.

Last Sunday the wind was howling and it was below freezing as the sun rose on the Snowy Range. But the quickly moving fog and clouds, and the glowing sunrise were a sight to behold.

I took this one in the rainforests around Mt St Helens. Is there anything cooler than fog?

My fall trip to Yellowstone and Tetons has given me way more fog images then I could upload here so here is one of the first fogs I've encountered and probably the most fun I ever had missing the red/orange/pink sunrise everywhere else

Great stuff, everyone! As a New Mexican, I'm with Todd: "What's fog?" But I did catch a little last fall in the Chama River headwaters.

Man, is there ever some talent on this forum! It would be grossly unfair to mention one over any of the others posted. What a pleasure to be associated with artists like those displayed here. :toast:

This one is from last year at Red Rock Lake.

I spent a foggy morning in one of my favorite beaches in the Big Sur coast. The rocks you see of varied sizes scattering the foreground, knock together on every incoming wave, creating the sound of incoming thunder. Truly a spectacular thing to witness. I sat there for a while, transfixed by the sound of incoming thunder from within the deep fog, as each wave came crashing in.
