5:15 a.m.

C-470 and Kipling

Flashing lights

Other side of the road

New law-slow down-about 50

State Patrol, Sheriff, Police, other cars

One light is too bright

Oh, spotlight

Turn and look as I go by

In the spotlight, something

A huge bull elk

That rack is huge

But, he's laying down in the road with his head and antlers up

A patrolmen just at the edge of the light

Turn to look at the road ahead

Pop

What was.....oh,

Mercy

Feeling awful for the waste

Hope all are o.k. in the car.

I'm posting this just as reminder to all of us to be alert when we're driving this fall. It could have been me. Be safe, my friends!

you should have seen the elk jams up in RMNP last eve--nuts!
