In January I walked a bit down the railroad tracks from Horsetail Falls. That area over there has always intrigued me. The black tree trunks in the brown grass with the water flowing in and out.
I'm not all over this photo but I don't think it's too bad, I like how the shoreline weaves in and out, I like the reflection and the tree trunks in the brown grass.

Mark, Fuuny you should post this because when Mark Adamus and I went into Ponytail In January there was some ground fog that I thouhgt be intriguing over that pond but decided not pursue it. I like the composition and the reflection, maybe it might look good as a B/W

This is kind of a mind bender Mark. My eyes go nuts because the tops of the trees are cut off. Well done, I like it a lot.

I love this one! The trees are wonderful reflected in the water. Subtle texture and colors - cool.

This is neat. I like the black trunks contrasting with the light grasses. This is wonderfully done in every way.

Neat composition, I can't wait to see it on my calibrated monitor at home! Lovely contrast of warm & cool colors.

Thanks, everyone,

Curtis, mind bending was my desire. It's sort of my desire in most all of my better photos actually.

Very cool, Mark. I always look at this spot when I am down there. As you know the train signalling lines are much in the way from the road, and I am always discouraged by the trespassing signs, so have never attempted to get closer. At time this looks really cool - especially those foggy mornings. This reminds me of some of the areas Jim Leigh photographs in Yellowstone.

Mark, I like this. The curves of the shoreline and the great reflection are what caught my eye right away. I also like as you said the contrast of the trees with the grass.

The dark trunks against the lighter grasses, the interesting curves of the shoreline, all combine to make one mighty intriguing photo. I like it Mark!

Just getting back to you after viewing on a good monitor---what a cool image! I've been intrigued with places like this on the floor of the Gorge too, and you've made a capture here. Wonderful sharpness and dof too.
