Yes, a reference to Paul Simon's-"You can call me Al." An apt title I thought for the hints and allegations by those that winter has come to the high country.
I set out to discover if any of this was true.
Posted by Morris McClung on September 19, 2011 at 8:48 PM
It was difficult to ascertain at some places exactly what the truth was.
Posted by Morris McClung on September 19, 2011 at 8:49 PM
In fact, some were trying to cloud the issue.
Posted by Morris McClung on September 19, 2011 at 8:49 PM
Others were quite vague.
Posted by Morris McClung on September 19, 2011 at 8:50 PM
It looked like at times that some were blowing smoke.
Posted by Morris McClung on September 19, 2011 at 8:51 PM
Some were being distant as to avoid the subject.
Posted by Morris McClung on September 19, 2011 at 8:54 PM
While others seem to be making a clear statement.
Posted by Morris McClung on September 19, 2011 at 8:54 PM
And some were actually obtuse.
Posted by Morris McClung on September 19, 2011 at 8:55 PM
Then there were those that would have us believe that fall was in fact here also.
Posted by Morris McClung on September 19, 2011 at 8:56 PM
There were co-conspirators in that canard.
Posted by Morris McClung on September 19, 2011 at 8:57 PM
And a small segment were trying to perpetuate both fallacies.
Don't believe them.

Sweeeet! and a taste of things to come!!
Very nice series.

Awesome series Morris...where were these taken because I'm seeing some early color here??
Posted by Morris McClung on September 19, 2011 at 10:53 PM
Thanks, Ed and Richard.
Hey, Jack, where you been? The first one is Torreys Peak off of I-70 at Bakerville.
#2 thru 5 are the Gore range,
#6 and 11 are off of I-70 between Frisco and Copper Mountain. Part of the Tenmile range, I think.
#7 and 8 are more of the Tenmile range looking south from the ponds along I-70 at Officers Gulch.
#9 was at Green Mountain Reservoir
and #10 was along Hwy. 9 north of Silverthorne.
You guys that climb all of these mountains can give the names to them. I always get them wrong. Somebody needs to teach me how to read a topo.
Oh, and I am pretty sure that Caudle was just ahead of me everywhere I went, with this many clouds around.

Morris, you crack me up. Great series, and imaginatively presented.

Well Morris, one thing is crystal clear. That's one hell of an amazing series and you're one hell of a terrific photographer!! Are those current shots?

Hi Morris - what a great series! I really like 1, 6, 7, and 8, but enjoyed them all. Beautiful work!

What a freaking amazing series of Hints and Allegations!
Posted by Morris McClung on September 20, 2011 at 12:09 AM
You are all too kind.
Russ, I shot all of these this last Saturday. Just great conditions everywhere with the clouds and rain.
WoW! Call me crazy but I really love the early fall colors and just a hint of yellow

Outstanding set, Morris!! 1, 5, 8 are my faves but they are all fine!

Very creative, Morris...and the photos are fantastic too!! All are incredible images, Morris, but I especially like the last one because of the sense of scale that it conveys. I feel as though I am standing at the edge of a mountain looking into that scene.

Looks like a great day! Really like #8

Beautiful images and mini story accompaniment!

Bravo!! I enjoyed each and every one of these wonderful (and chilly!) images and the creative narrative.
I fear that you've set an impossibly high bar for most of us, but one which also provides inspiration to try a little harder.
Thank you for that.

To be honest, i looked through the first few and thought this might be a relatively weak set--your typical obscured mountain shots--but then i got to #5, 6, 7, & 8--WOW!! All classics. So, it works fine as a series, but i think some here are much stronger than the others.
I really like # 5 + 6 the best. Thanks for the presentation Morris!

Very nice series! I especially like the simplicity and monochrome look of #1! Well done...

I like the opposing Vs in #1, and #8 for its cut edge ridge backed by clouds... and the captions of course.
#6 is the best in the series, imo.

Morris, this is a really nice series. I am partial to 6 & 8...but love the upside down V across from the right side up V in the first image....which I guess you can say create a diamond shape....but like that comp a lot.

I think I would like #1 a lot if I lived with it on my wall for a while. I think it would need some time to appreciate.
