Last week we lost our dear friend, Maggie, one week shy of 15 1/2 years old. It was quite a blow. I've had experience with many dogs over the years, both pets and working(hunting) dogs. There was something special about this one. We often joked that she had to have been human in a former life. She was quite a fishing pal but could really screw up wildflower photography. And lord she loved to run...

So long, Mags. Until we meet again.

Thanks, everyone. We have dozens of photos of her but this is our favorite. And we know how lucky we were to have had her with us for so long. What memories !

Dan,

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. It just isn't fair that they have such short life spans. I had to chuckle about your comment about screwing up wild flower photography though. It seems they just have to come over and investigate what you're looking at so intently and then it's all over for that shot. Hopefully the pain will be short and the memories long.

Thanks, Gary. I know yours are your buddies too. They add another dimension to one's life for sure.
