Rock Art-Too Contrasty?

I always like to increase contrast on black and white rock art images...does this go too far???

Thanks.

Joe.

Not in my opinion. Just about perfect contrast for a b&w image, in fact.
I like the creative composition here, which can be a struggle when trying to capture anything beyond a 'documentary' style image.
Nice subtle toning, too.

I originally thought that some of the pictograph and corners of the foreground rock were too white, but after toying with contrast, brightness, levels output and midrange, I came to the conclusion that this is just right. I like the addition of the foreground rocks and their center gap, rather than just a panel.

Not too far at all, Joe. The high contrast works well to accentuate the figures. Lovely image, if you ask me.

The contrast looks just right. Love the inclusion of the foreground rocks!

I almost always like high contrast in B&W's. And this is no exception. Works very well.

Looks great to me. I just shot some similar to this and it makes me want to try some b&w conversions.

I think that it is a matter of personal taste...after all, isn't all art? For me, I love it
