I'm curious what everyone uses on their iPhone for offline GPS/topo maps (so you don't get lost out of cell phone range). I just purchased TomTom ($40 for offline GPS/navigation) and Topo Maps ($7 for unlimited topo maps). Granted I haven't used it much yet, but it seems to work ok. I'm curious if there are better options people have found.
I also purchased an app called "GPS Pro" that helps with keeping track of your route and other useful tips. It can also cache Google maps data for you for a particular region (if you remember to do this before you leave cell range).
Specifically what I'm looking for is software that (a) will help prevent me from getting lost and (b) help me keep track of interesting sights via waypoints. I used to use Google Maps on my Blackberry for point b, since I could add starred locations and that would sync with my Google account, but I can't find a way to do that (either access my saved stars or add new ones) from my iPhone.

Scott,
I use LocoPhotive (http://www.locophotive.com/)to track picture locations via gps coordinates. It works well for what I need and for how I use it. I have not used any of the other apps that you have mentioned.
