I have been offered to do jobs for a local company that does landscaping/brick work. They make patterns in brick and such!
They ask me to photograph their work when completed and to continue to build thier portfolio to presnt to prospective clients.
I use pretty much canon's pro platinum photo paper for students, wildlife, etc..prints.
I would like your opinions on a great photo paper for prints that will hold up to be put in a 3 ring binder (after having 3 holes punched in it and gives great color and detail.
Possibly semi heavy duty and 8.5x11 inch, semi gloss
I do my printing from a canon pixma pro9500 MKII.
Any input would be great!
Thanks,
Dave

Dave, I use a 9000 with the Platinum Pro paper, and it's going to give you finest detail, no doubt. The problem is that repeated page-flipping will wear down and rip any photo paper at the rings. Plus, anyone with moist fingers is going to smudge the ink. I would use the Platinum Pro paper and just look for some nice sleeves to put the prints into, preferably ones made for enhancing prints, not the cheap ones you can find at a grocery store's school-supply aisle. Maybe look at LightImpressions.com or DickBlick.com and see what they have.

Thanks for the input...I will check out what you suggest, my only concern is the way they have been presenting thier work within a three ring binder with holes only...the paper the prints were on look pretty good....I will aproach a different way to present their portfolio better...I hope they are open to suggestion...they should be. Thanks again
As was said, Blick and Light Impressions have the non-acidic very clear 3 ring hole plastic sleeves for 8.5x11 paper. You can get the ones that you insert the 8.5x11 photo paper into the end or the ones that fold out for easier inserting. Your images will look very good and they will last longer (which the client should like). If for some reason someone wanted to see the image out of the sleeve, this is easy to do. I used this approach with a leather zip 3 ring binder case (found at Staples of all places - I have about 10 of them now). The binder is professional, is large enough for 8.5x11 including the larger sleeves, the pages are clean, and no fingerprints or smudges on the images. The case zips up when not in use and keeps dust out very well.
I think the leather case is so much more presentable than a standard "school-like" 3 ring open binder. You can get the leather 3 ring case in different size circular or D rings.
I actually use Epson matte for my prints - I just like that look.
