I just tried to load my old Huey on the new MacBook Pro and can not get the thing to work at all. I am running Mac OS 10.6.8 (snow leopard) and the sensor just can not read anything. Works just fine on my Windows desktop. Some internet reviews say that Huey is not supported on Mac........... so........ off to look at different calibration equipment / software that is under 400 dollars. I am looking at Colormunki display and Spyder 3 Pro. Couldn't find any links in here so please let me know what you are using and if you would recommend it. I would like it to do a desktop with Windows and my Mac laptop - the Mac being the most important one for now.
Thanks in advance for the advice.

PS Can someone point me in the right direction to find the contrast key on a macbook pro....

Hi, Lindy - Spyder pro 3 for me - calibrates both laptop and PC but both are Windows - don't know about "mixing" Windows and Mac. . Take a look at Ebay or Amazon - sometimes good used ones are there. I see one on Amazon now for about $110.

Calibration is essential, evey month or so.

Lindy,

Before you start shopping, go to Chromix and do some research on the available tools they have for Mac and Windows. I've purchased from them in the past, and their prices and service are excellent. They also make custom printer profiles, if you do your own printing.

You may need two software licenses, and for sure you'll need the appropriate hardware drivers for both Mac and Windows. Whether or not there will be an extra charge for the second license is unknown.

Lindy,

Syder 3 Pro has also worked well for me on Windows 7. I can't speak for Mac. Good luck
