I am spending a few days in Colorado and needed some advice on good locations for Sunrise/Sunset. My tentative plans right now are as follows:

Sunset Sunday night on Capitol Creek road
Sunrise Monday morning around Mcclure pass or Marble area
Spend the rest of Monday exploring and shooting on County road 12 and shooting Sunset
at Kebler Pass.

Sunrise Tuesday morning at Ohio Creek

My question is, where to shoot sunset Tuesday evening and sunrise Wednesday Morning

I have to be around the Buena Vista area because I have a flight out of Denver that afternoon and I will need to be headed toward the airport by midmorning. Thanks for the help!

These plans are tentative based on where the color is and the weather of course, but this is just a start. I am definitely open to suggestions from the folks who either live out in the area or travel there frequently. Thanks again for your time.

Not sure how familiar you are with the Crested Butte area, but there's really no worthy scene "at" Kebler Pass. You could spend all the time in the world exploring the Kebler Pass road (all 30 miles of it, really) with detours up towards Lake Irwin. You could fill the rest of any open time on Gothic Road, Washington Gulch Road and Slate River Road, all of which can be connected in one way or another, and all of which have ample opportunities for shooting aspens. Sunrise/sunset on Paradise Divide, for instance.

To get back to BV, just head for Taylor Reservoir, then take Cottonwood Pass to BV. That pass, one of my favorite places in Colorado, also has shooting ops.

I agree with Todd, plus you might consider Independence Pass, ~40 minutes from BV
