There was no way to go out next week so had to go out the weekend of 24th. As expected almost everywhere it was mostly green except for a few places like Maroon Bells , Castle creek road .. a few quickly processed images from the trip. C&C highly appreciated as always .. thanks for looking.
My first trip to Maroon Bells - with another 100 photographers witnessed the sunrise on Sunday ..

Cool, glad you got out Soubhik! Really like that first one, how cool to have flowers and fall colors in the same shot! The third shot is killer too, not too saturated to me, but definitely too dark on my screen. Great light though!
I know the processing / stitching of this pano is horrible but just wanted to give an idea how it looked like on Sunday afternoon from the McClure pass summit.
That's all for today

I think "quickly processed" tells the story here. There's some fine images, but some will look much better with a little more time in the digital darkroom, like #3 and #7. They look hastily over-manipulated with shadow/highlight and end up looking rather milky. I really like #5 and #6.

#2&5 are my favorites here. You came away with some good images, but I agree with Todd in that these may need to have more time spent to bring out the qualities you captured.
In #1, I like the combination of flowers and yellow aspen. My thought would have been to shoot from a lower angle to reduce the amount of midground between the flower and trees, and eliminate some of the trampled grass behind the flower.
Regarding #2, I like the fir and aspen growing out of the crack in the rock wall. The variety of colors is really nice. The aspen trunk and rock highlites appear blown though. I do not know if you can recover those, or if you used the 20/50/0 image polish, you may wish to back off some as that may throw the aspen trunk over the top..
#3 and 4 lack contrast and punch. Try a levels adjustment, add some contrast, midtone contrast, brightness, and the 20/50/0 image polish. This should get rid of the dullness and make the white aspen trunks stand out.
In #5, I like the B&W of the trunk and how the branch scar follows the rule of thirds. The image could possibly be a little brighter.
In #6, the comp is nice with the closer aspen trunks to the left and the opening in the grove at the right third to let the eyes move through the image.

I really like your pano comps in #1 and #2 and the contrasts in both of those shots. And #3, #4, and #7 with a little more processing will be excellent.

I agree wit the others re: processing, but you've got some real winners here, Soubhik.
#2 is far and away my favorite. I like the positioning of the trees and really like how the rock wall changes tones on the left and right sides of the trees. Very cool!
#5 is also quite creative. Could stand to be a bit brighter as was mentioned. #6 is a classic Colorado autumn image.
I'd be well pleased to get work like this from one weekend!

Soubhik, looks like you had a fine weekend of shooting! Count me as a fan of #2. I also like #1, and agree with the previous suggestion of a slightly lower angle to cut out some of the middle space.
Thanks a lot for your detailed critique and comments.

Great trip, Soubhik! I think #2 and #6 are awesome--you really have an eye for sophisticated comps here! As Todd mentioned, a couple look a bit 'muddy'--like #3 which doesnt look too saturated, just a bit dark/muddy.
