!!Post up to three photos taken in the Pacific Northwest between September 22, 2011 and December 21, 2011 in this thread to enter our fall PNWNP Seasonal Photo Contest!!

The winning photo will be displayed on our splash page this winter, and be added to our forum banner for one year.

Please keep in mind these guidelines:

-Any NPN member may enter up to three images.

-The image must be taken in the Pacific Northwest in the current season (for example, see the dates above for the current contest).

-Submitted images must follow the NPN Posting Guidelines and fit within one of the Gallery Guidelines for the Avian, Environmental Photojournalism, Flora, Landscape, Macro/Close-up, Man & Nature, Photo Art, and Wildlife Galleries.

-One winning image will be chosen by the PNWNP moderators, and thus PNWNP moderators are not allowed to enter images.

-The winning image will be featured on the Cover Shot for the following season and in the forum banner for four seasons.

"And the winner of the summer contest is... Craig's Dahlia Photo!! "

Excellent - congrats to Craig!
What about the two "Honorable Mentions"?

Since there were only four other entries, we decided to hold off on the honorable mentions for this contest. (Okay, maybe it was because I liked them all  .) If we can get more participation for the fall contest, we'll add that back in.

This is from our Seattle area gathering on Saturday. After a very nice breakfast and little session on our photography, we headed over to Woodland Park for some fall color.

Taken from the bridge at Staircase Campground, Olympic National Park. We were visiting friends who have a home on Hood Canal. Staircase is about 17 miles west of Hoodsport a few miles beyond Lake Cushman.

Darn it, Douglas. I was gonna post mine of Wahclella, but yours is better! I'll keep sifting through options.

I haven't been getting out much since Sept. 21st, so here's what I have. If I take another worthy entry, I'll add it later.

Out of sequence since I deleted the first, but this is a lightly different version, shot a little later in the day that I like better than the first number 2

Note: The dark rocky areas that seem oversharpened are actually ice crystals.
