11/12 UPDATE: Thanks to all who have contributed to the show. 20 images have been submitted, so each participant can display one or BOTH of their entries. No vote is needed.

I'd still like for us to have a MINIMUM of 30 images on display. So, additional entries will be accepted on a first come basis. Just use Jim's procedure below to add any additional images to his contest web site.

Also, if you provide your own easel(s) for display, there is no limit on the number of images entered or size.

At your convenience, please send me an email with the following:

- finished display size
- will you use your own easel or the library display panels
- image title
- image location

- sales price (optional)
- contact info, email, telephone (optional)
- website (optional)

To submit images, just click here. There are a couple things to note. In order to keep it a RMNP contest you need to just shoot Jim Casteel an email with your name, prefered username and email address. He will then create a login for you. You will automatically receive an email when it is done. If you don't hear anything in a couple business days please email Jim again. Additionally, this login will work for our Fall Colors contest as well.

The College Hill library staff and patrons loved our group photography exhibit last year and asked us to return for another show. So, here’s a great opportunity for everyone to share their work.

The library has lots of well lit space, but we are limited by their art display panels to about 40 prints. We used easels to further distribute the prints and allow for much larger sizes.

Last year everyone had the opportunity display two images. Hopefully, this year we will have at least 40 participants and everyone gets to display at least one image.

Where
- College Hill Library, Westminster , CO
- 3705 West 112th Avenue, adjoining Front Range Community College
- the exhibit will be on the 1st floor

When - Sunday, Dec. 4 through Saturday, Jan. 7

Subject - Any landscape, nature or wildlife image taken within the seven RMNP states

Eligibility - Any registered RMNP member

Fees - none

Image Submissions
- Start: As soon as Jim can finalize the contest page
- End: October 31
- maximum of two images per member
- standard JPEG size limits apply
- 720 pixels on longest side, maximum size 300 kb, sRGB

Contest Voting
- Online - Nov. 1 through Nov 7
- members will vote for their top 5 images
- the top 40 images will be selected
- you can not vote for your own image
- if there are less than 40 submissions, there will be no vote and you may be able to hang both images submitted.

Display
- All winners must be willing to provide their prints ready for hanging
- These can be traditionally framed, plaque mounted, canvas wrapped, etc.
- Glass is not required for framed pictures

- For the library display panels, the maximum exterior finished dimensions are:
- Width, 34 inches - Height, 30 inches
- Rather than using the library panels, you may provide a free standing easel for your image display.
- Easel displays do not have a size limit.
- Please contact Bill Pelzmann if you plan to use an easel, or have questions about a larger print.

Installation
- Sunday, December 4 - 2 PM to 4 PM
- If you can not attend the installation, the prints can be sent with another member
- Or, you may drop them off, or mail them to Bill Pelzmann any time before this date

Sales
- you will be able to post a sales price and contact information, if desired
- for those posting prices, the library requires a 10% commission on gross sales
- if you just post an email or website address for contact, there is no commission

Takedown
- Saturday, January 7 - 2 PM to 4 PM
- No images can be removed before this date
- If you can not attend the takedown, the prints will be stored by Bill Pelzmann for pick or mailing.
- Neither RMNP nor College Hill Library will be responsible for damage or loss of your print

This is the first time that we have used this contest page, it is still a work in progress. Your feedback will be very valuable as this new contest eliminates a substantial amount of work for the moderators doing the contests. If all goes well we could possibly setup other contests throughout the year.

Thanks

Bill,
Can I submit floral macros or does it need to be grander landscapes?
Thanks!
Anne

Anne,

Florals, macros, abstracts, etc. are fine.

The only guideline is to keep recognizable landscapes to within the RMNP states.
i.e. no shots of Half Dome, please.

Got it, Bill! Thanks! Almost all of mine are from our lovely region!

Can't wait to see this show in the walls. Thanks Bill!

When I thought of this I really was thinking of a pretty informal gathering but Chris Rice's idea to have a formal topic of discussion is a good one. If anyone has a burning issue to discuss post it here but failing that how about we continue with the discussion Stan started with his other worldly image?

How do you feel about "disclosure?" Composite images, blended images, captive animals, etc.

I don't want to steal thunder from Stan's thread so continue to post there but let's kick this around a bit at the show hanging. I have some pretty definite ideas about this and I'm sure all y'all do too so let's fire it up.

Finally, while there will be no formal RSVP, it might be nice to have a rough idea of how many to expect. Please shoot me an e-mail if you're planning on attending. Thanks in advance for the help and ideas.

Looks like I can make the get together. I wish I had something worthy of the display. I'm not sure we need a topic for the gathering...maybe just a more free-ranging discussion (IMHO). Look forward to seeing old and new friends.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Very cool of Bill getting this set up. I sadly don't have anything to enter, unless I were to haul my 6ft pano there. Too much of a pain in the ass. I really wanted to enter this year but I am about to close on a condo in Denver, so all available $$$ has gone to that. I'd like to join the afterwords get together though. :toast:
