Anyone down in the san Juans? How are the colors?

Trying to decide where to go tonight for Sunday shooting.

The San Juans are still at least a week away from from their peak. I just returned from a day trip to Ridgway and back.

John is correct as this report I received today from a very valid known source to me gave the following report. "Today I was able to get a good look at things around Ouray/ Ridgeway/ Silverton. Red Mountain pass, Ironton is at peak now and colors are very nice. Some of that area may last a week if wind is light and weather stays as mild as it has been. Dallas divide and lower Owl creek are still pretty green and I expect it will be another week for those. A friend reported that Aspen Maroon Bells Ashcroft are peaking now. Upper Owl creek is going well but not quite peak. May last another week. Good around Keebler pass but oddly lousy at McClure pass. I will check last dollar road and toward Telluride but heard reports that things still pretty green. Trees nice around Silverton and near peak"

Looks like I will be heading down next Thursday or Friday to the San Juan area. As for Maroon Bells, Aschcroft and McClure pass, he is spot on as well as I was there last night and today.

I just drove through the San Juans last night. Neither Ridgway or Wilson Mesa are looking all that great yet. Crested Butte is looking much better right now.

Thanks for posting guys. I saw Josh's facebook report and decided not to blast down to Ridgway. We stayed in the Carbondale area and found some awesome aspen groves that were at or just past prime, which resulted in lots of leaf covered ground - nice. Seems like things are quite a bit late this year but still very nice so far. Too bad I can't get out next weekend. Good luck to everyone who can!
