Hayman, brought to you in color
I took a quick trip over to the Hayman burn on Saturday. Lot's of color but the comps can be a little challenging. I love the fall colors here because of the contrastthe aspens have with the burned trees. One plus is that the crowds are almost non existant. Here's a few from the trip. #1 was the trailhead to the Lost Creek Wilderness.

Fantastic Michael. I've been thinking the fall colors should be getting pretty spectacular in there, just as the wildflowers have come to be great (precip permitting).

That's some great color. # 3 is a great pano!

That's some amazing and varied color in those trees. I think you met the composition challenge quite well, especially in the panoramic.

That first one really gives me the illusion of "flames" licking at the base of the burned out trees. So good to see the continuing recovery of this area.

I drove down 67 last Tuesday though the burn area and saw nothing like those photos. Obviously, I didn't know where to look. I like that last panorama the best of the three.

Nice work Michael...I like the last one best. I think the color with surrounding black poles from the trunks adds a lot of interest and intrigue.

Really like the pano crop with the burnt trees mixed in with the fall colors.

Thank you all for the comments! I've been out of town for the past 4 days and unable to reply. Pam, the Haymen burn Is always a good place to go for color. and the Aspens are making a nice recovery. Jim, I think the best way through the burn is to take forest service rd. 211. this will take you all the way through the west side of the burn. The pano is my favorite in the group as well. I shot the same pano about 4 years ago and judging from the growth, I think the aspens are gaining between 6 and 12 inches a year.
