Just a heads up for those heading out this week. With the heavy, wet snow falling on trees that still have their leaves, some downed limbs are inevitable. Might throw a hand saw in the car in case something comes down and blocks you from either getting to or getting out of a location. This happened back four or five years ago and I wondered if we'd make it out of the Lost Lake road. Had to climb over some fairly large aspen trees that had fallen across the road.

Great idea, but you might want to change your title. I almost didn't even read this because it said word to the wise and I was pretty sure the article excluded me

That's exactly what I thought, Kurt!

I've got a chainsaw with me if anyone needs help in the Ridgway area

A hacksaw??? For fallen trees??? The same thing you use to cut metal tubing and small diameter pipes?

Handsaw, Howard.

Good idea. Chainsaw works for me. I also carry a heavy duty set of lock cutters just in case I go in and someone locks the gate behind me. Happened once and had to use them. Phoned the 'locker' when I got into range to let them know and they were fine about it. Now I carry a 'goat' that was given to me by a retired SW Bell technician. In an emergency I can splice into any two-pair phone line in the country and make a call. Let's hope DHS isn't monitoring today.

DHS is ALWAYS listening, Ron.
