Family obligations on Saturday require that I stay close to home this weekend which may not be bad considering the weather reports for the San Juans. With that in mind I'm thinking of heading up the Peak to Peak Sunday. Anyone been up that near Ward in the past few days and have a report?

I haven't been up there, but the wind was howling up here (north of Denver) today. Its difficult to say if the leaves got hammered or not -- hopefully someone else has a clue.

Peak to Peak was at peak, to a little past peak last Friday, so I doubt that there will be much good to see this weekend, especially after the winds. Down by Cripple Creek and Victor were at peak and many area were just a little before peak this last Tuesday when I was down there. Gold Camp Rd was also spectacular with enough early peak trees to possibly withstand the winds.

Good luck.

Coming down from the mountains yesterday the winds had ripped the leaves off most of the trees in the junction of Peak-to-peak and US6. I was heading down US6, so I don't know what it would be like further north, but I don't think they'd have done well based on what I saw.
