Hi,

Hi Colin,
The location is Christchurch,Dorset. The bird should be in the Mediteranean somewhere normally, although he's been with us for the last 10 days.
Quite exciting this rare bird malarky, must have another try sometime

Lucky man! Great shot, great colors! Have you tried to clone out that white piece of wood?

Nice to see a new bird-agree with Rene about the wood but a nice clear sharp image :toast:

Hi Justin,

Good image of this rare visitor, perhaps try and dispose of the piece of wood, depends really on your point of view, it doesn't bother me too much.

Hi Justin,

Was thinking about popping down to Stanpit myself this afternoon but doubt I could do the bird as much justice as you have done! Cracking shot, I think the wood just adds to the habitat. :toast:

Hi Justin

A shot any 'twitcher' would be proud of - used to do a bit of it myself some years ago!

Hello Justin
Well caught indeed, I bet there's not many of these photographed in this country.
Best wishes

Thanks all for the encouraging comments, much appreciated as always.

I cloned out a couple of stray bits of grass but I wouldn't really know where to begin with something as large as that bit of wood.
From behind the camera it looked like a cigarette packet :frown: ,so I was quite relieved to discover that it wasn't, and was,in fact, something a little more natural
