OT: Before and After
Well, here's pretty much my only fall color shot this year. It also happens to be the last portrait of my family with our third member still on the inside.

And here he is on the outside, with his trusty baby monitor. Elisha Joseph Frishman, born October 1st at a hefty 9 pounds 12 ounces. He's named after my high school best friend and general character Eli who dies of cystic fibrosis this spring. Can't wait to start introducing him to the landscapes of the West!

Fortunately, I have a sizable backlog of images to play with, which ought to help keep me active here and on my blog through the winter. And I do have one other shot, which I may save for the fall color contest.

Congrats Jackson! Sorry to hear about your friend. Kids are a blessing and they grow up so darn fast. Take advantage of the time. Mines done with college but not quite out of the door yet.

Congratulations on your new arrival. I'm waiting to become a grandpa any day now. The time passes all too quickly.

Congratulations on the new arrival! Our son has been THE best thing to ever happen to me. I'm excited to see more outdoorsy parents who will introduce their child to the wonders of the natural world.

You might check out my wife's website, Adventure Tykes, as she writes all about our adventures with Jackson (my son) and how we didn't let having a child interfere with our road tripping, hiking, camping, biking lifestyle. It's full of tips and tricks and how-to's. Just in case you're interested: http://www.adventuretykes.com

Thanks everyone! Bret, definitely interested, Adventure Tykes has been bookmarked. My mom had taking me on multi-day rafting trips and to live for several months in southern Mexico by the time I was one, so I know it can be done. But, as I'm sure you know, there are lots of voices out there telling parents to give up and stay at home. Total B.S., but encouragement and contacts with kindred spirits are definitely nice!

Jackson: We started Adventure Tykes because almost all of our friends and family told us our outdoor lives would end when our son (Jackson) came along. They told us no more road tripping, no more hiking/backpacking, no more canyoneering, no more camping. We called BS and have been hiking and camping with Jackson since he was 6 weeks old. When he was 1 1/2 years old we took him backpacking in Glacier NP. The little guy has hiked in more national parks than most adults! And, it's all paying off. He's always telling us how much he wants to go camping, bike riding and hiking. So, we hope Adventure Tykes will inspire and motivate other outdoor parents to continue their outdoor lifestyles and show the nay-sayers that they're a bunch of smack talkin' fools.

Congrats again on your new family. I'm thrilled for you guys. He sure is a cute little dude!
