Da'Bells: Can't Have 'Em Both(w/repost)
Hey everyone! It was great to get back home from Colorado without any crashes! Hahaha. Ok, well, I didn't quite return unscathed, as my 5Dmk2 died on day 4, right in the middle of the storm. Big thanks to Bryan Pezman and Jody Grigg for lending me their backup cameras and to Brent Doerzman and Michael Renner for driving me around safely!

Although I didn't plan on shooting the Bells this trip, the opportunity came up and I went with Pez. For once in all my trips, there was cloud activity in the morning. The lake was a nice mirror all the way up to the peak light action.... oh, well, can't have everything, I guess.

Both pics are stitches using the 45mm TS-E before my camera died.

Stupid wind.

I think I would definitely take the clouds -- I think the first one is pretty nice even without the great light in #2, so I gotta say that the reflection in #1 makes it a winner. Looks like you guys had a great trip and no one pulled an Aleks

I like the subtle pastel light in the first one. And yes, glad I didn't pull a Jimmy and glad you didn't pull an Aleks

The first one is great, albeit a bit magenta, Jimmy! I don't think doing an Aleks is interchangeable with doing a Jimmy since Aleks didn't plummet down a steep slope. Maybe a Half Jimmy?

nice comp on the first image! :toast:

Both seem to lack your usual flare Jimmy but still nice.

But with photoshop, you can! Put 'em both toghetha! Love the color and light in both of these. And if you crop most of the choppy water in the second one it is still as good as the first one.

Beautiful Jimmy. I like them both. Just a suggestion but I would pump some brightness/contrast into the aspen forest. Make it pop a little better. After looking at it some more I think I prefer the first. Soft clouds, a little more pump and a nice reflection.

Hi Jimmy. Really solid comp, especially with a vertical stitch. I bet you can print this one BIG. Question, how do you like that 45mm tse? I love my 24 tse and have begun the rearching process on the 45. I've read about some critical focus issues with tilt. Any focusing issues with shift? I'm more interested in shift. I like that 90mm tse too.

Here's a repost of the first image.

Yeah, that looks even better, Jimmy.

Yeah, this version looks terrific! Classic and quite beautiful. So glad that you got perfect conditions.

That's what I'm talking about! Great work on the repost.

Hey Kane. I like my 45 TS-E, although I think it needs a trip to canon for a tuneup. It's been through a lot and the focusing seems a bit loose. Images look sharp and I'm ok with it for now. My 90 TS-E is one of my most used lenses. I love how sharp it is and how easy it is to add a bit more to my comp with the shift. I had an old 24 TS-E, but it just wasn't that sharp. I hear the mk2's are amazing.
