Dunkley Pass NW from Yampa, CO, 10/3/2011, 1:32 pm.
Nikon D300, polarizer, 5 images stitched together
1/250 sec, f/8, ISO 200
Unusual clouds in this image. An image taken later
in the week with fewer clouds was not nearly as nice.
Rod Hanna is right. The light makes the image.

Nice shot! We may have crossed paths, as I came over this pass about 30 minutes after you shot this.

Unbelievable! NPN photographers seem to get around. I drove a yellow Jeep Wrangler; perhaps you saw us. The photo was taken from the picnic table just uphill and south from the restroom/parking area. A much better location than the parking area along the road. Know any other good locations along the Scenic Byway?

The light and the weather made this one. Really nice capture.
Great fall color here and the storm clouds really help add some nice mood to this. The highlights look a little harsh so you might consider tweaking them a little.
