Sigma 500

I have a friend who is a die-hard Sony fan but wants a 500mm lens. He was asking me about the Sigma. Does anyone have any information about the fixed 500?

Their 500/4.5 is not a bad lens by any stretch. I had a chance to use one many years ago and was pleased with it - Sigma 500 Review

Thank you Jim. I'll forward that on to my friend. Strangely enough it seems that there are some wedding and portrait photographers that use these long lenses.

I read on the ugly hedgehog foram today that some pros are using 75-500mm for portait work. I always though you were suppose to use 50mm or 85mm f1.8 or faster
