One more from last week... and Uncle Kane, Uncle!
Here's another shot from last week. Same valley about 12 hours earlier than yesterday's post.

Kane, and others, I've been playing with white balance on yesterday's post and I think you guys are right. I'm just not sure how far to go. And please, don't ever temper your suggestions. I value them all!

Cool! That is some seriously dramatic light. Looks a little dark overall on my laptop, but the WB looks a lot better. :wavey:

Nice shot but your last one is the stunner.

Unlcle "Kane.." Isn't that a nice title :jump: ? Russ, your foreground snow and trees looks a lot better and more natural to my eye. "Natural" isn't always better, it's just a benchmark for me to comment and critique a lot of differnet images. Also, i wasn't there, I can't be certain of a scene. We all have different opinions, and ultimately it's up to the artist! As noted yesterday, I always respect the artists finished product. I hope I didn't ruffle your feathers.

Kane, absolutely no feathers ruffled! Seriously, I really value all the great advice I get here. The reason I cried uncle is I started playing with the color cast and you are right, pulling out some of the blue looks more natural on that shot. Please, keep the suggestions coming! The more I learn the more I realize I have to learn.

I'll just ditto Stan. I would like to see a little more detail in the shadows, but not so much that it takes away from the drama.
And, I agree with Kane that it's ultimately up to you as to what you want your art to look and feel like.

Yeah, this is simply superb, Russ. Congratulations!
And if you're taking suggestions, why not try the Auto Color command in PS? Then go into Selective Color and choose 'Yellows'. Move the Black slider left to taste. Then try the same thing with 'Reds'. Mix and match 'til you're happy. You'll be amazed at the difference!

I'm agreeing with Dean here. Listen to John (if you want), I've been picking up his processing droppings here for some time, and they don't stink.
