I went to the Flatirons Easter morning. Unfortunately they didn’t give me what I want (go figure) but when I turned around looking back towards town I was presented with this.

Michael,

An awesome first post. Congrats for making the most of the situation by turning around. A very nice, moody sort of composition with the trees leading in and parting for the moon. Great job - can't wait to see more!

Believe it or not, this is actually looking back east and that's the sun rising. I was right up against the mountains and could not see the moon.

That's a good lesson for us all - when shooting sunrises or sunsets, always "check your six"!

Nice one, Mike! It's easy to get mentally locked into a specific composition when we're out for a preconceived shot; this is a good reminder to stay flexible and find the other opportunities that are righ there for us to find. Thanks for sharing!
