Coming back from our Prineville place, I was awed by the vine maples around Wapanitia and Blue Box Passes. They appear to be near prime, with those in sunniest spots clearly at prime. We didn't do our usual trip along 35 for apples and pears, so I can't report on that area, but near from Frog Lake to Blue Box, the vine maples are lovely and the little yellow ferns make a nice foreground in spots.

Thanks for the update Marylynne!

Good color from just north of Willard in Washington along Road 66 up past Big Lava Bed and on up to the berry fields.

I didn't take any shots. I was traveling with my spouse and on a tight timeline. It was hard not to stop, especially between Blue Box and Wapinitia Passes. The late afternoon light on some of those SW facing curves was spectacular. Gotta get a divorce (just kidding ;-).
