My shot of Idaho
There wasn't a whole lot of color to be had with this image so I converted to B&W. I think it emphasizes the fence better. I may have cut the top a little to much so someday I'll have the cropped 4x5 drum scanned and redo.

Click on my website button if you would like to see it larger.

Appreciate any C&C.

Redo below.

This is the Sawtooths around Stanley, Idaho.

Gorgeous scene. As you mentioned, my eye would like a little bit more room on top. I'd like to see a bit more contrast too. Don't be afraid to let the blacks go really black in B&W. Love the fence lead in. And those are sweet mountains.

I have my suspicions, but can you tell us where this is?

I also feel this could use a little more contrast. Gorgeous shot and looks like a beautiful location :toast:

I agree with the improvement comments. Great image.

Beautiful comp, Dean, it's a mighty fine fence and gorgeous peaks! I'm no good for B&W advice, but I think I see what Scott means about the blacks. The top doesn't bother me, but I have a habit of pushing things to the edge of the frame, so take that with a grain of salt.

Looks great to me Dean--know the area well :) Love the fence and what looks like bales of hay. Still trying to get to Bozeman!

Thanks for the comments guys. Here's a version with 10 points of contrast added.

The reposted version nailed it, as far as I'm concerned. One of the better b&w images I've seen in some time.
Excellent work, Dean!

Exceptional Dean. Very nice image from comp to processing. It looks a tad soft on the web, but we know how that goes when you post crap here. Great shot my friend.
