I may have photograped one of these in the past, but can't remember. My first thought was it's a western sandpiper, but I'm not sure. Shot this weekend in Gulfport, MS. A bit larger than a SP Plover, which were browsing around with it, so I could get a good comparison on size.

I think it's a dunlin, Bill. The slightly down-curved bill and the size. A western sandpiper is smaller than the small plovers, I think. Then again, I could be completely off the mark. I haven't been in shorebird mode for quite a while.
Hi, I've been a paid member here for a while, this is my first post, but I do check the site out regularly. I'm thinking western sandpiper since the plummage is in such good shape. This indicates it may be close enough to breeding plummage that I would expect at least some dark chest feather plummage if it were a dunlin (assuming it is not a young bird). If anyone here knows me, you know I have been wrong before....William Maroldo ~Sugar Land, Texas

The reflected light on the underside is neat. Another vote for Dunlin.

I've photographed hundreds of these: Dunlin gets my vote too.
