Upper Mystic Falls
Three vertical images stitched together for max. detail, which gets totally lost in the web version.

Lower Mystic Falls
Tough (and wet) to get to, but well worth the effort!
Glad I shot this scene both with and without a polarizer.
The non-polarized version was much nicer.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

And I met this furry little fellow along the trail to the falls.

Love those comps, John. #2 is my favorite.
Your friend looks so soft and cuddly.

#2 is also my favorite, but that porky is pretty wonderful as well!

These are all nice. #2 is one of the better ones I've seen of these falls...certainly better than anything I have...

These are all quite amazing, John. The second one is THE best photo I've seen of these falls. Gorgeous work, my friend!
I find it ironic that porcupines are so damn adorable and at the same time, so capable of inflicting serious pain.
Beautiful shots, and excellent processing John, especially #2. Love the swirly leaves.

Sweet! The porcupine shot is cute and as mentioned #2 is one of the better Mystic Falls shots ive seen!

Stunning job on that lower mystic falls John...makes mine look sad I love every little detail of both upper and lower falls. JOh, you need to post that second one,,,or even the first one in ESS!!!

Um, John...that's not really fur on the porky. Both images of the falls are slick but I'm still captured by the depth of the first shot. Great stuff.

wow - is this colorado?! great captures!

Porcupine Tree!!! Very cool. Love both the waterfall shots. I've not yet ventured to the bottom of that canyon because I'm usually by myself and would rather do it when there is someone with me who can direct authorities to my body if I fall.

1 and 2 are just drop dead gorgeous, John! You should be proud of this work.
Great stuff John! I've never seen a shot of the upper falls, and I agree with others that your take on lower is the best out there. And I love the porcupine. They're oddly appealing creatures (I have some friends who had one as a pet and said it was great), and you don't see many photos of them.

Awesome! I love the detail in the second one, including the swirls in the pool to the right.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I really appreciate it!
And extra kudos to Todd for figuring out the PT reference. Thanks as always for turning me on to that band!
Both are so stinking good, but #2 is extraordinary.

I knew you'd get into wildlife shooting sooner or later, really like #2.

John, these are all excellent, but #2 is incredible for me. I love how the water flows throughout the image and seems to drop in from no where up above. Really nice comp!
