It's hard to believe that it's now been two months since I took this photograph...
My goal had been to take a sunrise shot at the famous Double/Triple Falls along Reynold's Creek. But, the weather and various logistical issues didn't work out for me. The day before, when I had hoped to scout the area, this part of the tundra was closed to hiking. Additionally, the wind was howling like a banshee. So, I scouted the area from above and made my best efforts to get there in the dark the following morning.
Well, it turns out that I "landed" about 200 meters upstream from Double Falls. But, in many, many ways, it was a spectacular sunrise! I shot and shot, looking downstream for this first photograph along Reynold's Creek. Finally, the sunrise looking eastward started to washout and I took a breath and started to pack up to leave. I turned around and found the upper valley to be magical (below).
