Currently hanging around Bryce, wife and I have decided we want to go to the south rim of the Grand Canyon since both of us have never been, going to spend one night, looking on sugguestions for sunrise and sunset for this time of year. Thanks in advance.

Jody, for sunrise I have liked Lipan or Moran Points. For sunset, either Hopi or Yavapai Points. For Hopi or other Hermit Road vistas, you will neeed to take a shuttle bus.

Although food and lodging service are closed in the park, the north rim should be open until snow stops access. Cape Royal is good for sunset and sunrise, Imperial Point for sunrise, and Bright Angel Pt for sunset

I'll second Doug's suggestion of Lipan Point for sunrise, it's one of my favorite points in the park. Hopi Point is a great location for sunset but it is typically very busy. Walk half way between Hopi and Powell Point to find a spot that is a little less crowded. And as Doug mentioned, it is a great time to visit the North Rim.
