I posted this in the Members Lounge, but it may fit here better:
What do you folks think about adding a gallery for younger kids that are interested in nature photography?
I teach about 50 high school kids, that I believe would greatly benefit from the C&C offered here.
I am planning on using The Ultimate Guide to Digital Nature Photog, as our textbook for my second semester classes, that is a great resource. Feedback form the tremendous photographers on NPN would be a great opportunity for them (and any other young folks out there).
Opinions?
Thanks for your time...

Tom, I'm not sure there needs to be a separate gallery for the students. I'm sure many of them will outshine their elders. Did you have in mind a special rate for folks under 18? That might be something that Jim might be interested in.

Carol

No I wasn't thinking about joining...
but some are just getting into photography, and this might be a great way to get them more interested, and get some wonderful feedback on their work.
You can post a photo without being a member, right? Or am I wrong on that?

You can view, but cannot post images or comments without membership.

Tom, only members can post on NPN. However, contact me directly and we can work something out for those students who are interested!

How about an old folks gallery? How about a Handicapped Gallery? How about a toy camera gallery? If there are enough people around here willing to spend time teaching, a beginner's gallery does make sense, though. Members could send their kids there, I guess.
I agree that this really isn't needed - we have some great kids here already who are posting exceptional pictures and benefitting from the C and C (and contributing nicely with their own C and C's).
Joe Sulik, Oscar Dewhurst, and Jenaya and Marlise Launstein come to mind - very excellent photographers.
I like jim's suggestion of a reduced-fee "student membership" to give them full access to the site, where they can post in the regular forums and learn /contribute as other new people have.

Thanks for the responses...
Jim has been way more than cooperative on this....
I respectfully withdraw my suggestion....
and Robert, I'd fit right in to the 'ol folks gallery....
maybe that's where I should be...
