My Fall Photos
I was finally able to get out and do some shooting after almost a year and think I am finally able to shoot on a more regular basis going forward.

Please click on the link below for my Fall Colors Gallery.

I took a long 1100 mile trip throughout the mountains but found Owl Creek Pass to be the most productive area. It rained the entire day I was there and I think I only saw 3 other cars the whole way through. But the rain and overcast light seem to really make the colors pop.

I would appreciate any critiques you may have.

Last Dollar Road I and Owl Creek I were my favs, but love the snow/aspen shot also!

A very nice series Scott. It is amazing how clouds and rain make those colors pop. The thundering horde stays home because of the weather and you come back with some gems. It does not get better. :toast:

That's a great fall collection!

The one you posted above looks over sharpened, however, that does not appear to be a problem on you website images.

Nit pick: A number of images that you labeled as "Owl Creek" are actually in the Cimarron River drainage. I assume you just mean they are in the Owl Creek Pass area.

Nice collection of images, Scott. I would have to agree that Owl Creek I is my favorite. The fog really sets this apart from other shots that I have seen from here. The composition in Owl Creek VI stands out to me as well because I like the contours of the pond and the reflected color. The variety of color in the Last Dollar shots also stands out to me.

Thanks Bill, I did mean the Owl Creek Pass area, thank you for the clarification though, I might go back in and change some. I might have over sharpened the one above, I tried something new on the sharpening and I guess my eyes aren't that good this morning. It also didn't help I had to save it at about 50% to get under the size requirement so that probably made it a bit worse.

Just a great set of fall images, Scott! I have to add Owl Creek I as being gallery worthy, too!

Call me the contrarian here but Owl Creek V rules....at least to me. :toast:

Very nice set. To me, my favorite is Owl Creek IV as the subtle V's nicely formed by the trees. Also preferred are Owl Creek I with the clouds in the crags, and Sneffels II.

Man, I like every one of these! Some a bit more than others, but every one is worthy of inclusion in your gallery.
The one you posted here is perhaps the weakest of the set.
I tried hard to come up with some constructive critiques and I simply could not.
All around excellent conditions and excellent work, Scott!

Nice set Scott.

Mount Sneffels Range II, Owl Creek VI, Last Dollar IV are the three that standout most to me.

On Owl Creek IV and II, the yellows are very uniform, or at least appear as such on my current non-calibrated monitor. I think a little more contrast applied within the yellow would provide a bit more texture to the leaves, but the pastel uniformity as they are now is a very unique take on the subject.
