Ibex Enviro
Managed to get back into the Swiss Jura today and as hoped 90% of the snow has gone,Small wild flowers are starting to show and the grass that has been buried for months is on a long road to recovery,It certainly looks different, all mounds and rocks which i had no idea were there,A dry stone wall 4 feet high was level with the snow,Amazing,I found this young Ibex lazing around,At first he walked off a near verical cliff more than 200 metres straight down,Made my stomach turn,I managed some shots of him on rocky ledges and then he came back up and laid down again,I managed head shots with my 70-200,All i need now is for his dad to do the same,Nothing like a big set of horns

 Dave I think this is what wildlife photography is about if you can achieve it, a good shot of your subject matter and where it lives. In this shot you have illustrated that well!

Yes a great looking image Dave and what a backdrop.
It shows it all and even I feel a little wobbley at the height from where I am.

Enviro shots are what it should all be about. Nature at its finest. Very good image.

Hi Dave

An attractive shot and an excellent wildlife in habitat image. I like it.

Good luck chasing the Ibex in the hills this spring and summer, a great subject to work on over a year.

cheers

Sean

Very nice shot Dave!
I was planning to try and shoot some Ibex this summer near Sargans (SG). I'd love to get a shot like this :toast:

A great image.... we often try to isolate our subjects often to the detriment of their surroundings, this image shows how important the environment is for good natural history photography, It may have been nice to have had the Ibex standing as well, but I am sure you will have ample opportunity for a whole range of images.....

Very pleased that you have shared this with us....
