Yes, diggin' #2! I find #3 pretty appealing somehow too, even though the comp isn't an immediate grabber. Seems like a gentle comp for a gentle subject, or something like that.
These are really pretty Morris. I like them all and am probably split between 2 + 3 as to which is my fave. Great processing and excellent presentation.

Beautiful series! Especially love #3. Brings back wonderful memories, for me.
Years and years ago, when Parker was rural and long before Castlewood Canyon was a state park, my family celebrated many sunny weekend afternoons picnicking and hiking all over this area. And as high schoolers we used to sneak off to "the canyon" to socialize and drink beer around a bonfire.

Another great set, Morris! #2 & #3 are especially nice, then 4 then 1. Yes, snow might really make this little pocket of awesome come alive.

Very nice images Morris! I really like takes on smaller local scenes that aren't really known. I'm riding with #3 as my fave, I think the sky really adds to the mood.

Hey Morris
# 4 does it for me!!!

Morris, #2 is a totally awesome shot. Beautiful comp that captures the colors in just the right way. I have photographed Castlewood in the snow without much success. That's undoubtedly more my failing than the park's. Maybe I'll trundle down there and give it a try.
What great color and composition. I like #1 and #3 is my fav. The color in #2 is the best however I'm not digging the featureless sky.

I'm a little late to comment on this one Morris but this is a great set. It's hard to pick favorites but #1 and #3 are probably my favorite. As usual the composition and processing are spot on. This looks like an interesting location.

Like so many others, I have never seen this place before. But, I have now and I think you did it justice.
#'s 1 & 4 are my favorites, but I do like 'em all. Which ones do you favor?

Thanks so much everyone for your time.
John, I guess I like these for the same reason as those who commented. I like #1 for the diagonal comp and the texture of the grasses below the cliffs, #2 for the color and vertical comp, #3 for the easy feeling it gives me, and #4 for the lines, textures, and colors in the rocks. Hope that all makes sense.

I like #4...I always stop and admire trees that can grow out of seemingly nothing more than a crack in a rock. The colors against the pale rocks is attractive to me.

As to your question, I appreciate the realism in a lot of your recent work. Your work is compelling in a way that is not often associated with the "epicness" of modern landscape photography. And that's refreshing.
The comps work well, I think, when presented as a series of images ... each a different perspective on the unique qualities of the place. You are showing as much/little as YOU want to show. I can find nothing technically wrong with any of the images.
Keep it up Morris.

Like the vertical crop and the different colors of vegetation in #2
