After seven years, Tom has decided to step back from being a moderator to spend a bit more time with his growing family.
I'm no good with 'Goodbye speeches', so I'd simply like to take the chance to say a resounding 'Thank You Tom!' for your unstinting friendship, help and support over the last several years - you're going to be sorely missed!!
I know Tom will still be out and about with his camera from time to time, so I'll look forward to seeing his shots appearing on the forum sometime soon!

Hello Tom
That's a real shame but understandable as your time is taken with Michelle and the Kids (it gets better mate). Over the years we have become good friends and I would personally like to thank you for all your help over those years too, I was naive in those early years but you always seemed to give the right advice. Cheers Mate.
Danny
PS Now you can use this spare time to get out and start taking more images.

Hi Tom,
Thanks for all your input over the years Tom. When I started posting on here you were a great help.
Best wishes to you and your family for the future.

Tom
Totally understandable, spare quality time gets shorter every year......
The UK forum woudln't be where it is without your stewardship.
Tom, you have been a superb ambassador and moderator for the UKNP.
I thank you and congratulate you.
All the very best
Phil

Tom, thanks for all you have done for the UKNP group! The fact that it is the most active NPN regional group and that you have worked at making it so for 8 years is very much appreciated.
Children grow up fast - this is the time to put family in front of all else!

Hey Tom,
Thanks for keeping this forum in check and its a credit to your personality that your family time is much more important.
Looking forward to seeing you on "our" side of the forum as you turn from Gatekeeper to Poacher.
Thank you so much for your contribution and moderation over the past 8 years. UKNP has been a huge inspiration to me for many years and the fact that it is such a welcoming and positive community is wholly down to the firm but fair hand of the moderators.
Enjoy having some more spare time and stay in touch.
Cheers for the nice words all, it is much appreciated.
Whilst I have stepped down from UKNP moderation - I haven't stepped away from helping Jim & NPN so I will still be around.
Time just appears to be running away from me at an alarming rate in the last year, and I need to spend a wee bit more time with the family before I become the family 'taxi' ( i have 2 girls ) or the auld-man in the garage, additionally i need to get a few other projects finished as well; the time recouped from not having to read the UKNP comments etc will make a difference - as I hope will some of the changes afoot in NPN.
It's good to see other people interested in keeping UKNP the best naturephotography critique forum in the UK - I would urge those of you who have the time to help Nick.
So in a nut shell - it isn't goodbye

Best wishes Tom. Thanks for all you've done for the forum. I hope you'll find time to get out and take pictures and post more, if family doesn't consume all of your time, i've always enjoyed seeing your images
