Seattle Japanese Gardens
I just returned from a trip to the Seattle area and seemed to hit it just right this year for the Japanese Gardens at Washington Park and over at Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island. A blog post if you're interested in reading more: http://gregvaughn.wordpress.com/2011/11/07/seattle-area-japanese-gardens-in-autumn/.

Very nice Greg! I just posted one on ESS I took at Kubota Garden from yesterday. I hope to get back there later this week...hopefully with some nice soft overcast light. It's funny how most of the time we wish for the sun, and the one time you don't want it to be out, there it is!

Thanks all for the comments! I suspect that conditions are great right now at the Portland Japanese Garden as well.

Wonderful blast of color Greg, and I really like the way the path leads through it. Well done.

Thanks, John. I wandered around looking for photos of just leaves and trees for a pure nature shot, but then recognized that this view is more like what Japanese gardens are all about.

That's a great point Greg. I think we, which actually means me, often overlook how beautiful a touch of the human element can add in the right situation and quantity.

Yeah, the walkway is perfect for leading lines into the scene. It keeps the viewer engaged in the overall scene. Well done, Greg.
