Autumn Bliss
Autumn at the local refuge shows itself with the temporary gathering and then leaving of Sandhill Cranes as they head farther south for the winter. Another welcome sign is the arrival of thousands of Tundra Swans into the area from Alaska, Canada and their summer breeding grounds.
I don't always add titles to my images but "Autumn Bliss" seems fitting considering the long flight south and the safe arrival of this pair now settling in for the winter. I discovered our first swan arrivals yesterday and although they tend to settle in the middle of the refuge's largest lake, I was able to capture a few workable images. While I wish they were closer (sharper) I was pleased with the comp. and spread wing arc and reflection of this pair.

Hi Craig, I like the composition. Good catch. How far away were you with that 600mm? :toast:

Hi Jack, Thanks for the comment. I am not the best judge of distance but my guess would be between 150-175ft.

Really lovely, Craig. Quite an acrobatic pose, and you nailed it. 600 with a 1.4? Whew!

What a beautiful arch that wing makes. It took me a second to sort out who's who, but it's a wonderful scene and the title works perfectly.
